PRC China's ZKTeco Deceiving Public With "American" Armatura
Armatura touts itself as a leading access control provider founded in Atlanta whose products are "designed in the U.S. and India," but corporate records show Armatura is a subsidiary of PRC manufacturer ZKTeco and is run by two PRC citizens who are also ZKTeco employees.
In fact, a flagship Armatura product, the Cronus metal detecting turnstile, was patented in the PRC by ZKTeco as the MST150. This is the second time IPVM has reported on ZKTeco attempting to obscure its PRC origins and ownership, and fits into a broader pattern of security companies obscuring PRC ties—for example, Anviz Global claiming to be US-headquartered but having PRC ownership and control.
In this report, IPVM examines Armatura and its PRC parent.
